Dana Point is a picturesque beach city just north of San Juan Capistrano situated on a high bluff and known for its naturally sheltered coves, sandy beaches, harbor and marina. The population is relatively small but Dana Point attracts lots of tourists and surfers. A trolley and PCH link the city to Laguna Beach.

There are several established neighborhoods in Dana Point. The historical section along the headlands known as Lantern Village contains many unique single-family homes and townhomes. More recently, an affluent area known as The Strands was developed next to the public Salt Creek Beach. The luxury condos near the Ritz Cartlton and townhomes built around the award-winning St. Regis Monarch Beach Golf Links are the most glamorous.
